The northeastern area of Grand County is known as the Three Lakes area and features Lake Granby, Shadow Mountain Lake and Grand Lake. Grand Lake is the deepest and largest natural body of water in Colorado and the lake by which the town gets its name. Shadow Mountain Lake is a manmade lake while Lake Granby is one of the largest reservoirs in Colorado. It's no wonder the area is a hot spot for summer visitors especially water sports enthusiasts. The winter months attract snowmobilers, cross country skiers and ice fishermen.
Grand Lake's Main Street is lined with wooden boardwalks featuring charming retail shops and a variety of dining options. Visitors to Grand Lake enjoy fishing, ice fishing, boating, swimming, paddle boarding, hiking, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Some of the best wildlife viewing can be done in Rocky Mountain National Park whose western entrance is adjacent to town.
Real estate in Grand Lake tends to mimic the town's rustic mountain charm. You'll find everything from cute summer cabins to luxury lakeside homes and everything in between.
